Recolour the given black and white photos on Adobe Photoshop.

1. Create a new layer and colour the face. (Have brush settings on large size and low hardness)

2. Set the blending mode to overlay/soft light.

3. Repeat the steps for the eyes, lips and clothes.
4. Create a new for the background and fill it with a colour.
5. Add all selection from all layers (ctrl + shift + click)
6. Apply the selection to the background layer mask.
7. Use the brush tool to finalize the layer mask.
8. Invert the background layer mask. Set the blending mode to overlay/soft light.

1. Select the face with the quick selection tool.
2. Right-click on the face and click on select and mask.
3. Use the selection tools to pick up tiny details and refine the selection and click output to: layer mask when done.
4. Create a new layer and fill it with a colour.
5. Drag the mask to the coloured layer.
6. Change the blending mode to overlay/low light.

7. Create a new layer over the current one.
8. Right-click on the new layer and click on create clipping mask.
9. Use the brush tool to add shadows and highlights.

10. Repeat the steps for the rest of the photo.

For this photo, I used the same steps as the second photo.

REFLECTION
All photos came out well at the end. I prefer the second method as it gave more detailed results and worked best for tiny details like hair strands.
