PROCESS WORK
Exercise 1: Quantify and Visualize Data
I chose buttons for this exercise. I separated them according to appearance, number of holes and size. At first, I tested 2 different arrangements with block layouts.

After feedback, I browsed Pinterest for layout ideas. I got inspired by radial designs.

I sketched out another idea on ibisPaint X. I added extra buttons for more variations. This design followed a radial layout from the left corner of the canvas.

After that, I applied the design on paper with the buttons. I drew lines to better separate the classes.

Finally, I lined everything with pens.

Exercise 2: LATCH
I decided to use Pokemon as my topic since I played some of the games. I based the infographic on the Unova region from the Generation 5 games. I looked at past student's examples for reference.

I wanted to showcase the three main terrains in the games to show the Location principle. I used the game's map as another reference.

I initially separated each terrain into 3 islands.

I found this to be difficult to arrange with the category boxes so I switched to 1 island with 3 different biomes on it.

I imported the drawing into Canva to add the other elements.

For hierarchy, I used a larger font size for the heading and gradually decreased it for the subheadings.

Category is used in the boxes that shows different pokemon types like ice, grass and ground.
Finally, time is applied through the evolutionary chart in each category box.

FEEDBACK
Week 2
Explore different layouts.

REFLECTION
Exercise 1 really taught me to be mindful of the arrangement of categories and how hierarchy affects designs. I also learned how blocks can be manipulated to create more interesting layouts. Exercise 2 had me applying what I've learned from Exercise 1 and playing around with how the categories were arranged.
