3. PROCESS WORK
a) Sketches
From the character I created in Task 1, Forgi, I wanted to portray it according to the personality and description I gave it.

I came up with three sketches for Forgi's card design.
Idea #1

| Fig 3.2: The first sketch |
Set in a forest, a Forgi sleeps at the base of a tree. Other Forgis can be seen in the background.
Idea #2
Set in an open grass field, a Forgi leaps in the air to hunt a blackbird. Other Forgis hunting for blackbirds can also be seen in the background.

| Fig 3.3: The second sketch |
Set in an open grass field, a Forgi leaps in the air to hunt a blackbird. Other Forgis hunting for blackbirds can also be seen in the background.
Idea #3
A lady carries her Forgi on her back through a bamboo forest.
After consulting Mr. Hafiz, I decided to go with the second sketch but changed the composition referring to various examples from the book, Framed Ink, mainly Big VS Small and Big, Medium, Small. I even applied the golden spiral to help with the composition and put more focus on the character.

I then went on to making the artwork on Adobe Illustrator. I preserved some of the vormator shapes from Task 1 and drew the rest of the shapes with the pen tool.

After making every shape, I used the pathfinder tool to do the shading and added extra details. I then inserted the final artwork into the pokemon card template to make the pokemon card.

4. REFLECTION
This task was fun as I got to evolve my character, Forgi, through artwork and show it's personality through it's movement. However, I did have some trouble working with Adobe Illustrator. I had difficulty with the opacity setting and the program crashed twice. Luckily, nothing was lost but it was frustrating for it to happen twice. Overall, I still have a lot to learn with Adobe Illustrator and its functions.
