PROCESS WORK
From the Pasta Grannies YouTube channel, I chose Grandma Clara's cannoli recipe.

I wrote down the recipe from the video with Clara's specific instructions.

I drew some sketches for the poster.

After feedback, I looked for inspiration on Pinterest and made a mood board.
I drew some small thumbnail sketches to come up with a more eye-leading layout.

I chose Stockhome font for the sub-headings.
Fig 2.9: Sub-heading font
The body text was initially written in Butterpop font but changed it to SFT Schrifted round. I kept the numbers in the Butterpop font.
I arranged all the elements like in the sketch.
I made the changes according to the feedback given with more consistent margins and a smaller rule of thirds grid. I eventually moved the title to the top of the poster as I felt it was easier to read. I also added lines to separate the recipe into 2 components.
Final Outcome
FEEDBACK
Week 5
Explore arrangements that leads the eye with direction
Week 6
Good sketch and put titles to fill up the empty spaces
Week 7
- Put number 4 to 6 to the right for more comfortable eye movement
- Arrange the instructions in more natural wavy lines
- Change the body font to a thinner font
- Split the poster in 2 with contrast to better show the 2 separate components
- Draw the tin in step 7 to be more 3D
REFLECTION
This task was difficult to get right so I applied everything I've learned in this course to get it to look nice and readable. It taught me to make designs readable and to be aware of eye movements when reading. I'm happy with the final outcome that I achieved.
